Fender designed guitar hanger--anyone else tried these?

I recently bought some guitar hangers made by Fender and was wondering if anyone else here has tried them. I bought them here in the UK, so I don't know if they're easily available in the US. They're Fender's take on the String Swing hanger.

On the plus side I like the look--a little different from the String Swings I was planning to buy.

On the negative side the first hanger broke. The hanger arm separated from its steel backing plate where the two pieces were welded together. Not a good sign. I contacted the store and they said they had been using them in the store and the salesman even owned some himself and there'd never been a problem. They personally tested the next one they mailed me and I tested the remainder I had, and it seems like it was a one-off failure.

I also bought bigger wallboard inserts to hold the screws in place, just to be safe. I don't know why all the hanger makers seem to cheap out over this 5-cent part, but they do.

Anyways, here's the hanger:

And here's my setup:

I'm a "put it back in the case" guy, myself.

With three cats, two of which are still kittens, my prized guitars stay in their hard shell cases when not being played. Guaranteed those kittens would jump up on the wall to play with a guitar just because they can!!

Have you noticed, music gear seems designed specifically to attract cats??? Nice tweed to scratch, Tolex to sink your claws into, carpet covered cabinets, warm amps to sleep on, chewy yummy guitar cables...

My cats run from the room when I so much as pick up a guitar. It's baffling.

Those look nice. Probably the same hook as the String Swings, with black rubber and plastic base. String Swings are fine with me, never had a problem, even during earthquakes. Hercules seem like overkill, but nothing against using them if you prefer them.

I also am a put back in the case guy, except my Martin, which is next to my chair I relax in, and sits on a stand.

And the crunchy plastic bits on the guitars themselves - trem arm and switch tips, volume/tone knobs...
