What's your drink of choice to beat the heat? Normally for me it's water or ice tea (unsweetened) but it's hard to beat a cold beer when the weather is untolerably hot. Having said that, the other night I had a Vodka Tonic and it was pretty damn good. Maybe not quite as good on a hot day as Gin & Tonic, but awfully close.

What's your poison of choice when the mercury climbs into the red zone?

Uncarbonated cold water is usually the thirst quencher. Mind you, Whisky when the Sun sets ain't such a bad idea either.

The second best beer is the really, really cold beer that you have after mowing the lawn in heat like we're having. Oh, that's heavenly.

Water, or an iced ginger tea. The ginger is surprisingly refreshing, but with a nice bite.

I have a tie for either a gin and tonic with Hendricks Gin and fresh lime, or a nice Mojito. On a hot day they even beat an ice cold beer. (and I love beer)

When it is really really hot (as it has been on a lot of hiking trips lately) I go 100% water.

I was hiking at Great Falls National Park up until a few minutes ago, and it wasn't quite so bad but I was looking for water. Something else later when I'm more comfortable. :^)

I was out biking in town last Sunday during a local parade and forgot my water bottle most of the drink / smoothie stands had long lines so I went to the stand with no line and had something called a Froggy Float it was just lime sherbet and Sprite, but it was awesome. I was very thirsty at the time and it really hit the spot so I'm a big fan of the Froggy Float.

You may talk of gin and beer when you're quartered safe out here and you're sent to penny fights and Aldershot it. But when it comes to slaughter you will do your work on water, and you'll lick the blooming boots of him that's got it.

Gin and grapefruit juice for me.
