+1 on gin and tonic. I use Beefeater gin and Schweppes or Canada Dry Tonic. A slice of lime and plenty of ice and it's coolness in a glass.
Really cold iced tea takes a close second. -Mr. N.

I gotta agree with you there, fungus. Schweppes seems a little less sweet. But I can't find it as consistently as the Canada Dry.

Water - no doubt about it.
This thread got me to thinkin' about Gus and his jug and them Pigs at Lonesome Dove. Of course Woodrow always did say Gus never did a lick of work in his life. And Gus would retort it was to balance Woodrow's obsession with it. ...it's goin' on 10:30pm and I've got a craving for some biscuits now. ...serves me right for thinkin'.

Half fruit punch Gatorade/half water. on the rocks, twist of lime. or, Cranberry juice (natural, no sugar) splash of ginger ale, lime. My wife makes it for me, we call it the Refreshing Beverage. Oh, she likes a splash of Absolute in hers.

This'll do for me. I like it really cold so it goes into the freezer for 20 mins before drinking. The only problem this English 'summer', is the total lack of hot weather.....

All day long Cold Carbonated water (aqua gazzata) or plain tap water.
Japanes barley tea (moo-gi-tcha) also works wonders. we have 40 degrees celcious (in the shade) in Athens at this moment! at night VERY cold beer (I prefer Asian beers like Tiger,Asahi,Tsing Tao cause they are more refreshing during the summer ) in a FROZEN glass (I always keep a few glasses in my freezer) |
