"colored" denim jeans

Inspired by the Lookbook thread: do you guys and gals wear denim jeans in colors other than the usual blue (indigo)?

Myself, I use Wranglers in a variety of colors: browns (chocolate, whiskey), tan, grey (charcoal). And I always buy my blue jeans rigid/unwashed.

I had some light-colored tan jeans, but they showed dirt too easily.

Besides blue, I sometimes wear black. That's about as off the beaten path as it gets for me.

I like to have some black and khaki-colored jeans in the mix with my blue ones. I can wear those and kid myself I'm being a little less casual. When I was young and fit and playing in a band, I wore a pair of tight, white Wranglers the girl-folks liked.

Anyone else ever notice that jeans of colors other than blue tend to fit tighter? It's as if the dyes make them shrink more.

Dark blue for fancy, and light blue for working 'round the casa

They are called blue jeans for a reason.

"Tan jean, baby queen, prettiest girl I've ever seen"

"Tan jean baby, LA lady, seamtress for the band."

I don't think so.

I'm sure they must be, but truth is the first riveted jeans or "waist overalls" (made by Jacob Davis in Jan 1871) were made of brown duck twill though.

And you're right; "Jeans" derived from fabric woven in Genoa, Italy (Genoese).

Except for a horribly failed stint in Leisure Suits, always Blue and always jeans.
