There's Always Ane A-hole In The Crowd RANT!

Last night, we played at a popular nightspot on Long Beach Island, down the Jersey Shore. We had a full house of people young and older, who loved the band and wanted to party. Great crowd, great gig...except for one A-hole who ruined it for our bass player.

Brian is the nicest guy in the world, and is legally blind, although he has some vision. He carries a special loose leaf binder with his charts and lyric sheets printed out in large type so he can read them when necessary. Right before the last set, some POS scumbag a-hole came onstage while Brian wasn't looking and stole his book. Just like that. Took this guy's chart book, for no reason. Brian has no computer, but the files for the charts are thankfully on his ladyfriend's hard drive, so they can be replaced. It's just the idea that some immature jerkoff had to rip off his book and ruin an otherwise great gig. For what? Brian was pissed and felt violated, and rightfully so. To the security staff's credit, they were very apologetic and tried to look around the property. No luck.

After I was done packing up, I roamed around the area for a while and searched for his binder also, but didn't find it. Guaranteed, the perpetrator threw it away somewhere later. What good would it do him/her?

Why is there always one dirtbag in the crowd that does stuff like this or causes trouble? Alcohol? Kleptomania? I just don't get it.

Rant over.

OH... forgot to add that the 'someone' who took your bass player's book IS an A-hole!

Dang that sucks, and the story is about the a-hole who stole the book, not about how professional it is to bring one.

What a *%&#@!! I do not loke violence but a proper @#%&# whooping is in order.

One thing though, I find that Karma has a way of getting back at people like that. You may never know, but believe me thing happen to people that are mean & evil.

I apologize for swearing.

Yeah that is bad. I only hope that your bass didn't loose was more than just musical stuff. Like personal stuff like credit cards, ID. etc.

Fortunately not. It was just his book. My thanks to all you sympathetic and enlightened folks who responded positively.

This is beyond a-hole, if you ask me.

It's too bad you didn't find the guy.

Actually, it's probably a good thing you didn't!

Stealing a workman's tools is about the lowest form of theft imaginable.

I removed an inappropriate post, and all of the subsequent responses. Please, folks, if someone has crossed the respect line, just hit the red "Report" link on the left side of the post!

Thanks!

Ya that does suck but a music binder is fairly easy to replace.

Stolen guitars and gear, not so much.

Be careful out there ya'll! Just because you're paranoid does not mean they're not out to get you.

When playing live anything can happen. It only takes one person to do something stupid.

I'd give him some Karma upside the head!
No appologies necessary here.

Whoa that's low. I can't imagine what possessed someone to do that. :(

No security cameras? most places have them. I would ask and see if there any.

I can't imagine what possesses some people. Booze, maybe?

The only consolation is that stuff like this has a way of coming back on the person who did it. Even if you don't know about it, it will happen...

Anyone who steals anything is about the lowest form of life on earth, period. Nothing touches someone worse than having things stolen. Doesn't matter if it can be replaced, it's an "invasion". I've had a lot of things stolen, nothing makes me more bitter.

Hope the Karma comes back to haunt him!
