Hi, I went last year and am going again this year. I'm guessing it will be a little more crowded this year because the tickets are actually cheaper. There seemed to be quite a few people there last year but it didn't seem overly crowed. We had a very pleasant time. Talked to a lot of cool people and saw some unusual gear, although I didn't anybody "real famous" there. Did see Rick Vito at the Reverend booth. Fender wasn't there and Gibson only had a small booth with a few Firebird Xs there you could try out. Hopefully they have a lot of free gifts to hand out and be prepared to come home with a lot of free picks. Anybody else from TDPRI going to be there? . |

There was no public day when I went. It's loud. You can get a lot of free guitar picks and Tee shirts. Free Tickets to Muriel Anderson's Night of a 1000 guitars which is really cool. The bars on Broadway will be loaded with their best acts.
I was in the Deering banjo booth one time playing a six string banjo when I heard another one start to play along with me. I looked up and it was John Sebastian. Big Al was with him. I met Steve Morse there. He was a real nice guy. Johnny Hiland and his even his parents, sadly both gone now too. I was lucky enough to get to attend a small concert and see Bill Carson perform and meet Bill Schulz as well. |

Jack's Barbeque is not to be missed. Fender was not there? Really. I went 3 times as a guest of Fender. Gibson was not there, they had a big trailer parked on the street nearby. PRS usually has a good booth and demo set up. Line6 has in the past too.

I came, I saw, and now I'm Deaf. You were right it was Loud in there. My trip to NAMM was kind of a rushed one, because my cousin was w/ me and she's not really into guitars, but there was some really good lookin' stuff in there. I registered to win a Little Walter Amp. Those things sound amazing! Wish me Luck! After that we hit up some of the spots downtown.

Went again this year and was even more disappointed. The economy has really taken a toll on the summer Namm show over the last several years. Have been to every show in Nashville except one year and it gets smaller every year. Heard the rumor that while it's still going to be in Nashville next year , it will be in a different venue/arena ( smaller ). But I'll still go as we love the Nashville nitelife. Didn't get their name but we heard an awesome band at a small club called Swingin' Doors, we found them Friday and went back again Saturday. Played some good traditional country music. They had a great female vocalist.
