R.I.P. Andy Griffith

I just read that Andy Griffith died. I grew-up watching "The Andy Griffith Show" with the catchy whistling theme song. I also love the movie "No Time For Sergeants," which was the template for Gomer Pyle. Rest-in-peace Mr. Griffith, thanks for the memories...

In his role as Andy Taylor, he was the model "sane, cool" grown up.
That was was my take on it, as a TV lovin' kid in the 60's.
He was the same guy in Matlock.
I expect he was indeed, a sane, cool guy.
I consider him a national treasure.

The world would be a better place if cops were more like Andy Taylor and less like Rambo

One of the best shows on TV. Great comedy during the kinder, gentler era of television. A show that I can watch with my grandchildren without having to hit the mute button. First class act all the way. I am gonna miss him!

Mayberry is/was a kind of heaven on earth. Hope he is in Mayberry now.
Funny how so many country songs made references to Mayberry like things, such as sittin on the front porch talking to your neighbors, playing a guitar on the front porch, helping your neighbors. If it wasn't so dang hot I'd try that tonight. Rest In Peace Andy!!!

So well put...Andy Taylor was my role model when I went into law enforcement.

This is a sad day...rest easy in Mayberry, Mr. Griffith.

I always liked him. He was one of those people who could entertain and still keep things out of the gutter, unlike most entertainers today.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Griffith.

The Andy Griffith Show .... the first four seasons with Don Knotts is absolutely the greatest all time TV sitcom ever produced. The writing, characters and acting was the very best. RIP Andy.

Absolutely agree...my version of heaven is a lot like Mayberry with my family and friends as neighbors.

I can picture Andy, Aunt Bee, and Barney on the front porch now soda pop and guitar in hand...
