Anyone here a Joe Walsh Fan?
He ain't country, but he's a hell of a Tele player. Used a Tele for Funk #49, Walk Away, Hotel California, and many more. He turned country and blues licks into Rock & Roll.

I like quite a few of his songs, but he hasn't made an album that I really like. I love his slide style, but he certainly wasn't the only one to turn country and blues licks into rock and roll. Mick Taylor was as responsible for that sound as anyone.

I didn't even realize how I liked his style til I noticed how many Walsh songs I was playing. It kinda snuck up on me lol. I like his slide stuff and funk 49 is awesome.

But that will leave an empty slot in my wallet, and that's just not right. In the meantime, I'm going to try and find all of these country-themed discussions that apparently make up most of the threads around here.

But then I'll have nowhere to keep my Justice League of America membership card. This is just not working out at all today.

I'd call Joe's playing "tasteful". IMHO, he never overplays a part. In fact, his avant garde personality seems to be indicative of his playing. He added a lot of glue to the Eagles tunes he played on and his use of "in-between" notes make a song sound quite different if you remove them from the mix. In his solo work, his use of overdubs reflected a healthy appreciation of what Jimmy Page was trying to accomplish with Zep. A texture here, a texture there. All together...a really robust sound.
