Some bloody fine playing....
So my eldest is home from college. Brought his guitar down to "clean it up". Apparently he got a bit "exuberant" with his strumming while playing with some of his friends at an end of year party.
![]() I told him I thought he should leave it that way. Could start a whole new trend in "relic-ing". ![]() JM

Exactly. That is not mojo, that is nasty. Period. Blood, anybody's blood these days, needs to be cleaned up. I would not want to come within 5 feet of that.
Not to mention you're just asking for corrosion on the metal parts, like the pole pieces of the pickup.

Yeah. I was at a jam the other day and asked to see another players guitar that a mutual friend of ours had just put together for him. He had just finished playing. He gave me permission to have a look so I took it out of the gig bag and started looking it over. I eventually began to notice something on the pickups and elsewhere and realized it was blood splatter. Thankfully I had not strummed the strings at that point nor had I touch any of the front of the guitar. I immediately put it away very carefully and went directly to the bathroom and scrubbed like I was about to perform surgery in the ER. YUCK!!!!

That is some Old School BRUTALITY!
New School Sensibility sez: times have changed, Bio Hazards aren't as cool they used to be. Keep the pic, clean-up the blood.

think there's still some blood spatter on a couple of my pickguards. never really thought of it as a biohazard since a)it's my blood, and 2)it's been on there long enough that there's no way anything infectious would still be active.
one night i did blow out some stitches from a work related accident to rob zombie levels of gory results during the finale to sympathy for the devil, but i kinda thought that was appropriate :) |
