As the the month of May fades away

and we go to summer, I feel we are leaving spring. Oh not officailly as the calander says but with last weekend being Memorial day kinda the kick off to summer. I'm gonna miss it, I always thought of the month of October kinda being my favorite but not so much anymore.
The far as the weather goes it hasn't been that great as we had some stretches of better weather in March this year.
Maybe I've taken more time to stop and savor the moments as of past.
I've seen snow in May before, thankfully only a couple times.
I think its had alot to do with the birds singing, the bunnies chasing each other, the "new life" being born. Also the way everything just fills out, trees, flowers.
I realize now May is officially now my favorite month, hope to see many more.

Yep May and June are my favorites. Then the dog day's. Working 7 day weeks in the summer, I used to wish them away, as I age not so much. Time goes fast enough.

May is already too hot for me.

I like March. In like a lion, out like a lamb. Or, is it in like a lamb and out like a lion? Or, in like a hampster and out like a monkey???

Sad, strange thing is, where I am in the world, in about 4 weeks the nights will start drawing in again - with summer started.

I like a super long day, if I can get it without intense heat and a sense I can't go anywhere without sunscreen.

As the trend towards longer and longer days is overtaken by too much heat, too few activities you can do without drowning in sweat, the peak has already passed.

So, whether March is best, or April or May (in the Northern Hemisphere) turns on precisely where you're located.

Changes in latitudes... I was skiing all through March, until past Easter in April. I don't think I could ever live where it gets stinking hot, or where it is very humid.

as May ends it reminds that June 1 is the start of storm season (we don't use the "H" work here). June, July aren't too bad. but as August begins you start to pay closer attention. August, September, and the first 2 weeks of October are the worst. even though a storm can happen any time it's emotionally havoc wreaking for those 12 weeks or so.

such is the price of living in paradise

The weather has been perfect here for the last week. If it stayed like this four months a year I'd be very happy, but it never does..

April and May are the best. And december. August-October are terrible, ( beginning of school) November is okay. January-February I don't like. March is okay. June is good. July is good.

Yeah Bob it was 93 here on Memorial day as well. Didn't care for it much as I don't look forward to the hot stuff summer brings. That just has me looking forward to the "first frost" but I know not long after comes winter. The older I get the less I look forward to winter.
I live in the country, nothing like getting up early watching the sunrise while having coffee and listening to the birds sing (during the mating season), just awsome. Makes me appreciate being alive, especially when you have fewer springs ahead than behind you.

Here in the antipodes we're reversed. I love the cooler weather, and May - September in Brisbane is cool nights and deep blue-skied sunny days. All kinds of outdoors activity is comfortable. Water sports just needs a wetsuit. My favourite time of year!

I have an old friend, Allan Parrillo, who lives on Ormond Beach. He's a commercial realtor and plays guitar and sings. He was the lead singer in my
60's garage band.

Even though I personally took a (small) hit from the twisters this year (one spawned a hailstorm, messed up a car and residence), I am so grateful it was nothing whatsoever like last year.

Heat, humidity are an inconvenience. Last years' tornado season was on a whole other planet.

I can't disagree with you. I'm thankful to live in a mountainous area of northwest NJ where tornadoes and the like are extremely rare occurrences. A small tornado did hit the county a couple of summers ago and ripped up a few buildings, but it was on a flat area of land.

Sorry Birddog but you are completely wrong. 8-). May is already too hot, I have to cut the grass, the wife has 15 projects lined up and I have to look at both sets of crazy neighbors out in their yards.

Fall is the best time of year. It is getting cool. Playoff baseball is starting, football is getting going, I can officially forget about all the outdoor jobs I didn't get done and I won't have to deal with the neighbors again for at least 5 months.
