How about the door to her room? She needs to close the windows and have the doors open to achieve maximum cooling.

As most of have learned over the years, you just can't argue with a drunk? And if they're stupid to begin with, they're even less intelligent when soused.

Good luck with your move...

Thanks for all the laughs guys!!

Yeah, it seems every time I settle in my head that I can wait it out another year, she does something to annoy me. It's almost as if she's in my head. But, I also figure that's the Universe giving me the sign to follow my path. I woke up a few hours ago and notice the living room light still on. Another hour passed, I go out to the bathroom and there she is laid out on the couch. It's annoying to know that someone is outside my door whenever I walk out there, rather than asleep in her room. It sort of impedes on my privacy a bit, since I have to walk out of my room to use the bathroom or kitchen. I used to be able to have some "me" time when I'd get up early, but if she is going to be sleeping on the couch, then I have Zero me time, outside of my tiny bedroom.

Stir crazy. I'm gonna bring up the topic later and see where we're at. If she wants to lease it on her own and find another roommate, I will be able to take my time looking. If not, I will rush to find something in 2 months. My sanity depends on it.

My old man was a career soldier, so he had some gems.
"Now you've **** in your mess kit"
"Illegitemae Non Carborundum" don't let the bastard grind you down
"Sunny Peaches" to replace SOB
His take on life was that of an old school Eagle Scout and Arrowman...Service to God, Country, and Community
Many, many times he told me he would never be disappointed in me if I just did my best.

A/C or no A/C, sometimes you really need to open the window in the bathroom

Oh yeah don't get me wrong, I'm all for opening the window to get some umm, scents out of the room/apartment. Or just if you feel like you want some real air for a change. But I'm talking...both windows cranked wide open...that's bound to let all the humidity in and the cool air out.

my dear old Mom used to say "There's no cure for stupidity" though my favorite of hers was "Eat it if it kills you - it's good for you!" Good luck finding your own space.

Life is tough, but it's tougher if you're stupid. (don't know who said it but it's true).

Tele-Rain, you've put up with her nonsense way too long. I'd have booted her months ago, or just left her holding the bag...one or the other.

My question to you is, does your apartment have central air or do you have window units? You may be paying more for that cold air that is going out the window if your unit has its own airconditioner. My dad's favorite saying on this topic would have been " You tryin to cool the outside, too?"

Update...

So apparently the vents were closed in her room. She opened them and can now feel the cold air. And has since closed her windows as well.

Tele-Tim - I getcha, and I guess it seems like I'm a bit of a doormat with these things. But that's who I am. And don't get me wrong, there are good moments as well, as I've said, we are friends, after all. I don't post about them because, well...that's not venting. But perhaps I should start to post some fun times every so often too!

motwang - we have Central AC throughout the apartment. It works quite well, actually, better than I'd expected being up on the 3rd floor. It gets freezing if we put it low enough, but comfy otherwise.

Anyway, so for now the crisis is once again averted.

We (in Australia) have units that draw air from outside through a refridgerated unit (or a moistened screen) and pump it inside. If everything sealed up in there, the air pressure rises inside, meaning the pump has to work harder to push the air inside, meaning it burns out quicker.

We leave the window open a crack.

But our air conditioners generally deal with heat, not with humidity.
