Teddy Bears

Did you have a teddy when you were a kid?

It's a curious thing to think back all those years to when you were just a nipper and the things you associated with.

I'll man-up and admit I owned a much loved teddy pre-teen age years who I confided in, told all my secrets to and slept with.

I don't know but do kids have teddy bears in this digital age?

No, I was raised by wolves. But they did occasionally let me hug a dead squirrel before we ate it.

Happy times!

Well, a dead squirrel is better than a dead skunk I guess.

When I was young I don't think I ever owned a bear, but I clearly remember I had a big oversized stuffed shar pei dog, I loved that thing, I'm sure it's long gone, I don't think my mom kept a damn thing of mine.... Ive always been a dog person, though...that stuffed animal looked exactly like this...the other one is my real dog :P

No stuffed animals. In fact, the first toy I remember was an electric train at age 6. I don't remember any others till age 10, when I got a slot car set and a truck load of GI Joes and equipment/uniforms for them.

I had a ton of stuffed animals when I was a kid. Don't remember any teddy bears, but I'm sure I had one.

I still have mine. My cousin had one exactly like it. My grandparents gave them to us. According to my mom we would get them mixed up and I would smell them and I could tell which one was mine. Weird I know... I hope kids still have Teddy bears. Things like that were comforting as a child. I truly hope kids still need such things. I think I'm gonna go get one for my nephew now.

I had a ton of stuffed animals because my grandmother made them for us. I had a teddy bear I made myself with her help too. I'm sure my mom has them stored somewhere, but I'd rather see my grandparents again than some stuffed animals.

There were two that I remember. The first was a teddy bear. It was small, threadbare and mashed flat as a pancake. My mom still has it somewhere. The other was a dolphin. I remember it because i won it with my grandmother playing a carnival game. She went though a lot of quarters trying to win each grand kid a stuffed animal.

My eldest brother had one pronounced Boomphy. He carried it everywhere and eventually my mother washed it and it disintegrated. He screamed and cried for days. I didn't want one after that because he told me that when Teddy Bears get dirty they die. I opted for a Tonka Truck instead.
