About hospital staff...

When did they get so young? Bunch of kids running around giving out drugs and acting like they know what's what...

They're pretty convincing, though. I'm almost willing to buy it.

Most of the new doctors I teach are brilliant. I usually have to remind them to wear socks and get rid of the gum.

Funny you should mention gum... I see a half dozen pre-meds running around pushing computer trolleys with their jaws a-flappin' and the gum a-smackin'.

Why did I see hospital staph in my head when I read that?

I personally don't entirely trust them. I sued a hospital and got a crap load of money in settlement, because there staff was operating below the standard of care with a family member of mine. My case and witnesses were too strong, and they knew that.

I never realized there were so many docs on here....wow....impressed.

It's not that the doctors are getting younger, you're just getting older.

My youngest is in her Pediatric Residency at 28, ok, she is a brainiac, very good diagnostician... and gorgeous also.
I spend a lot of time in hospitals unfortunately; the best are younger, eager to get it right and got the energy to finish strong.

I had a minor surgery today... the main nurse I had was easily in her 60's... she was so energetic and awesome.. all the 'check in staff' were very young and super competent and nice.....

I respond best when people are sunny and confident... my surgeon and I talked the whole time about baseball and horses... I love that young people are taking over! and I love that older folks still have a place to work....

I call my wife's GP, "Doogie" (not to her face, mind). She's blonde and perky and I'd ask her for ID if I ran a bar.

Last time we were there, she was wearing a leather miniskirt.

Sometimes I wish I was sick but maybe I am for thinking that.

Young? Yeah.

Fat? Yeah.

Big fat disgusting people talking about health is beyond comical.

I remember how weird it felt when I first noticed the police officers were getting younger than me. Then the doctors. The last three presidents are younger than me!!

My daughter had an Associates degree and a CNA before she turned 18. Maybe the kids are getting smarter.

As you get older you will frequent hospitals more, so naturally the staff is going to look young. We should be talking about school. I don't remember teachers that look anything like they do now.

When I was in the hospital with Guillain-Barre/CIDP, the staff doc and his team of residents would come around together. One day, one of the residents stayed back to give me several pages of printouts of info he had found on my condition.

Another time, I gave one resident one of his first scares. Late at night, I had some odd symptoms, including a little loss of vision when I looked upward. The poor guy almost panicked, as he zeroed in on the area that was blind. He started to hyperventilate, so I started talking to him calmly, making a little joke, etc. He sent me for an MRI and everything was fine. Poor guy, he looked so very worried. But he did the right things under pressure.

Some of us were pretty smart when we were young, too. The world keeps on turnin'.
