It's a "fell swoop."

fell (fĕl)
adj.
Of an inhumanly cruel nature; fierce: fell hordes.
Capable of destroying; lethal: a fell blow.
Dire; sinister: by some fell chance.
Scots. Sharp and biting.

What Skully wrote.

The term is "fell swoop".

It means very swiftly, suddenly and effectively, so all it takes is "one fell swoop". That's my take on it, in one fell swoop.

Here's another take, seems credible to me:

Dunno, but outside of Nashville it's a "fell swoop."

The idiom probably comes from a seldom used, adjectival definition of "fell" as sinister, dire, or overwhelming.

Might be a good band name. Or an album title.

I thought The Good Texan was just

pronouncing/writing it the way he would say it, with a southern accent, kinda like the way 0le Frizzy ah er I mean fuzzy writes things.

Right TGT? Right?

(go with me here, alright?)

Really then it should have been spelled "One Fail Schwoop" ...

a "fail swoop" is where some really old eagle tries to catch a rabbit.. misses, and crashes on the ground, tumbling over and over

If you need twelve swoops, the first eleven weren't fell enough. :)
