Mick Jagger on SNL Last Night

Wow! Mick really made SNL watchable. Funny skits and great muisc. Its been a long time since I've been able watch an entire show without turning it off because of a lack of entertainment.

My 9-year-old daughter was very excited to watch Mick on "SNL," without encouragement or even a mention from me that he was going to be on it.

I've seen about half the show so far, and it has been pretty damn good, even if some of the sketches serving as a vehicle for the humor (Lawrence Welk Show, game show) are a little tired.

for those of us who no longer can wear spandex, mick gave a class in staying relevant last night.

bands grow old but singers do not. maybe mick is my generation's sinatra.

I finished watching that a couple of hours ago. I liked it. Mick was a good sport! I think the show ended their season quite well.

I thought Mick Jagger singing "The Last Time" backed by Arcade Fire was one of the best musical performances in SNL's history.

I was expecting to like the Foo Fighters backing him more than Arcade Fire, but it was just the opposite.

Nice to see Jeff Beck and Tal Wilkenfeld as well.

And really sad to see Kristen Wiig leaving the show. She's held the show together for years. Nice tribute for her.

I am not even a fan, and he blew me away.

Yes, and the dude from Foo Fighters was playing like this was the last gig of his life.

+1 to The Last Time. The Arcade Fire gang was PUMPED, and it's also on my list of "maybe the best" SNL music performances ever. Bonus points for cool guitars and old Music Man amps. (What was that guitar Tim was playing? More bonus points for bending the neck.)

Foo Fighters were okay, but really, what do they do that anybody couldn't do?

Beck was his usual awesome self, bringin' the weird stuff like noboby else can. In between looking at Tal, I heard her play a couple epic fills on the turnarounds.

The musical lineup was so strong last night that the SNL band actually got pushed to the background. They've been very much "out front" this year. Jared Scharff almost always gets a solo at the start of the show, and his P90s-through-65-Amps tone this year has been fantastic. But not last night...

It was funny to see Jagger putting on Steve Tyler. He was great in all the sketches - he has enough presence and acting ability to carry it off, unlike a lot of SNL's non-actor guests.

Really, the most impressive part of the show was his entrance - he just walked out and stood there, and I just felt, "wow". He totally has "it" - total class, and that larger-than-life thing.

I've seen the Foo Fighters play live twice, and they play every song like it's their last one. What a band!

That was a great show last night, one of the few times I have felt SNL was even watchable over the last few years. It's rare when I'm home on a Saturday night, but I was last night. If the wife and I try to watch SNL, we inevitable wind up turning it off because it isn't funny or the musical guests are dreadful.

I don't watch SNL mainly 'cause I'm gigging at that time and it doesn't mean the same thing to me anymore. That episode was great. I love that 'one-off' stuff.

I thought the Password satire was kinda funny...and the Lawrence Welk skit. Kristen Wigg (?) always does great slap-stick humor.

From the creators of "Vowel Movement"...HA!!!!!!

Other than that, it's the same old stuff since the mid 70's.

I loved it! He sounded fantastic and his acting in the sketches was great!

I was a little confused by the Kristen Wiig ending. Have they done that for other departing cast members? She was never a favorite of mine, I found many of her characters just plain annoying.

Strangely the rebroadcast I get by being a Comcast cable member, Xfinity, did NOT have the bit with Jagger as Tyler. I wonder why?

She was just too talented to stay. In addition to being a great actress, she is a writer, e.g., Bridesmaids. If she were just an actress she might have stayed. Like that annoying Fred Armisen!

I loved SNL this past Saturday night. I thought that Jagger was great. That skit at the Karaoke bar where everybody was miming Jagger while he watched was perfect. I'll miss Kristin Wiig, she was good...I liked the song with Arcade Fire, I wasn't as impressed with the Foo Fighters. The song with Jeff Beck was OK. (I'm a big Jeff Beck fan, I was a little disappointed...)
