Timbukthree started here, sort of, but had to move to make it
Garbage used to be local, one is still here. Clyde Stubblefield is here, but didn't get big here. Same for the Producer's bass player. And the bands at my high school prom 2 years running were REO and Cheap Trick, but from near, not here. Steve Miller and his roomie Boz got started here. |

I grew up in San Jose, CA 45 minutes south of San Francisco. The list of bay area bands is just too long. It is always weird when a band you've seen several times at a local club all of a sudden is a huge deal.
