[QUOTE=mal paso;4143110]Do you guys ever get tired of bashing the RRHF.

Simple answer.
The Moron Jann Wernner who runs Rolling Stone and the HoH
has omitted these bands.
Deep Purple
Kiss
Srevie Ray Vaughan
Motorhead
Jethro Tull
and others.

The Boys sounded like rock with some Led Zep and other Rock band stuff.

Really, the Beastie Boys weren't rock? Some people need to listen to the music before bashing it.

"music"? To me it doesn't sound like music at all. Let alone R&R.

Nothing wrong with not personally liking the Beastie Boys, but man, they were absolutely a great rock'n'roll band AND a great hip hop act. Their first album was a great, snotty, punk-flavored riot, and after that they really grew into some mighty cool stuff.

You're listing Kiss as a glaring omission before Link Wray?

C'mon, you're making it really obvious that you've based your opinion of the Beasties on really limited exposure to their music. There are tons of tracks where they play Fender bass and guitars and wurlitzers and acoustic drums under samples and rapping. Their production style was absolutely groundbreaking and perfectly represents the cultural mish-mash of their NYC upbringing (elements of everything from Al Kooper's Blues Project to hip hop, free jazz and world music) and an uncanny knack for lyrics that reflected the cultural zeitgeist. It's 2012, old definitions of what constitute rock and roll are useless.

So is it "trolling" when my opinion differs from yours?

I just think there are more deserving Bands than the beastie boys.

Does anyone actually know the selection process for induction into the RRHOF?

I don't know why anything the "Hall of Fame" does surprises anyone. The whole thing is a sham.

You forgot the part where you list all the "more deserving bands".

I really don't have the time to list them all at the moment.

But if you look back in the thread you will see a few.

Induct Link Wray

"Link is the greatest rock ‘n’ roll guitarist of all time!" - Eddie Angel

You got that right, Eddie. And you know Jimmy Page would agree.
