Anybody played one of the new Taylor T5s? They sure are purty. I'd be interested in hearing some unbiased players' impressions.

I thought it was pretty cool. I played one at GC, but I didn't get to plug it in. The neck and the detail work on the guitar were really nice. This one was black, but I've seen a burgundy burst one that was really sharp looking, they also make it with a Koa top. I got to hear the Taylor rep play one also. He got some really cool sounds out of it.

The Honeyburst color has Ric Fireglo vibe--very cool.

Was in GC last week and played the demo T5 standard for 10 minutes or so.

Worth $2K? Not to me. But YMMV.

It's like playing an acoustic that's been heavily modded to do fill-in electric work thru a pod. But, IMO, it sounds like neither.

Could it be useful for recording? I wouldn't use it for a basic track. Maybe for nuance overdubs.
