I thought it was pretty cool. I played one at GC, but I didn't get to plug it in. The neck and the detail work on the guitar were really nice. This one was black, but I've seen a burgundy burst one that was really sharp looking, they also make it with a Koa top. I got to hear the Taylor rep play one also. He got some really cool sounds out of it.

Neither Fish nor Fowl
Was in GC last week and played the demo T5 standard for 10 minutes or so.
Worth $2K? Not to me. But YMMV. It's like playing an acoustic that's been heavily modded to do fill-in electric work thru a pod. But, IMO, it sounds like neither. Could it be useful for recording? I wouldn't use it for a basic track. Maybe for nuance overdubs. Thumbs down! |
