Trade offer on CL

I have had a pretty decent MIM strat on CL for four weeks trying to trade it for a tele or semi-hollow of some sort, like a dot or something. Only offer I got was an MIM tele with duncan pups, dude said my strat and $250.00 cash would be a good trade

never thought it would be so hard to just make a simple reasonable trade.

I always think you're better off just selling for cash and then shopping for your next item on your own. It's hard enough to find someone who wants your strat and thinks it's worth as much as you do, but then finding someone like that who also has something worth trading is even harder.

MIM Strats are a dime a dozen these days. Nobody wants em really. I sure wouldn't want to trade a tele or semi-hollow for a used MIM strat. Just saying...

a used mim strat will range in value from about $250 for a standard to 500 for a jimmy vaughn. classic series should get you 3-400.

The problem is that strats are falling out of favor and are probably the most sold model of guitar in history so the used inventory is huge. It's not hard to throw a rock and hit a decent strat for sale. I will say that special transcendent strats seem to be some of the hardest guitars to find though- they are very inconsistent from guitar to guitar.

I buy, sell, and trade all the time. A tele will sell for more money and faster than a strat. I would expect you might have to kick in 50-100 dollars boot on similar trade. A lot of folks that have made mods (Duncan pickups) think they should get big bucks for the mods. Your best bet may be as above, to try to sell and then you have cash. Cash talks.
