I'm drinking a nice bottle of my own beer right now

Does anyone else brew beer? I have a roughly mid-level setup to where I could actually brew about 15 gallons at a time if I needed to.

I have been refining a witbier recipe for a while that is my current fave. With this current batch I have been deciding what the best bottle size is depending on how long it sits before being opened. At 4 weeks in the bottle, the larger bottles (20 oz and above) tend to be smoother, but the beer in the 16 oz Grolsch type bottles has a little more bite to it.

I also bottled in a 1 liter growler that I just can't wait to open, but will wait until circumstance bids me to. Most likely at a party where I am going to bring some beer without having to bring multiple bottles/cases.

I would love to hear from anyone here who is a brewer as well.

C

Lol. I can ship if you'd really like to try one. Just let it sit for at least 3-4 days before you open it.

My fridge.

My fermenting fridge.

A Bohemian Pilsner about to go on tap after a while of lagering.

My favourite maltsters.

My nephew tried it years ago from a kit that you can purchase through the mail.

The suff turned out so thick you could eat it with a fork.

That's an awesome setup Nick! Whenever I have room for another fridge, I'll get into kegging. Would love to not go through the bottling process.

I used to brew all the time but my beer fridge did not make it into the new house :(
It's really a great hobby and once you get through the learning curve, you really can brew remarkable beers. I stuck with 5 gallon mini-mash recipes, did some clone brews, and came up with some of my own recipes too. When I was on a roll, I would have 2 kegs (the 5 gallon kind, as pictured above) in the fridge with another 3 or 4 ready to go.

I have informed my wife that there will be a mini fridge/keg system in place when we redo the kitchen :)

We have 2 kegerators here at the house, but I've not brewed yet. I'm afraid I'll find yet another hobby.

I grew up brewing, and help three different friends brew frequently, but do not have my own setup- just because I try to keep my main hobbies outside of things that will make me gain weight like crazy.

My setup isn't quite as elaborate as Nick's but I do brew what I drink. Currently have a nut brown ale kegged, a Belgium wheat & irish stout bottled, several fermenting as we speak. Lots of fun!

A good friend is a brewmaster, so I get plenty. Gotta watch it tho, he likes it with more kick than what I get out of a Miller Lite!!!
