Lindert guitars - opinions?
Specifically their Model-T. (Tele looking body)
Came across a good deal on one and it just looks cooler than a Trussart to me! I've read some interesting things about the necks being very different, but great. Anybody played one?

Played one a few years back...
One of my local stores had one a few years back. If I recall, the neck was pretty nice, a C-shaped deal, if memory serves, which it rarely does. About all I recall is it was a nice playing, nice sounding guitar and if had had the bucks at the time, I would've bought it.
And the headstock, once you get used to it, is kinda cool... |

We had a bunch in the old gtr. shop I worked at for awhile, they played nice but they just didnt seem to take off. We lost our butt's on that deal. We did put a baritone neck on a model t and it was very very nice sounding though.

The necks had an offset profile. Some didn't like them, but the ones I tried grew on me after a few minutes of playing.
I passed on a Tele style once due to a lack of cash, and really regret it. One thing you may want to keep in mind...some of the Linderts were made in the USA, but they moved production overseas towards the end of their run. |

Lindert Owner
I own a Locomotive T, bought it brand new at Manny's in NYC round 1996.
It's got a V neck profile... a very very V neck profile, the only thing it doesn't do is come to a point on the back of the neck! It's actually a comfortable neck albeit an unusual shape. It sounds very good too. It's got what appear to be two Strat pups, one at the neck and one at the bridge. The pridge pup sounds like a nice Tele bridge pup... I guess whoever made the pups voiced a Strat bridge pup to sound like a Tele (I've heard that they where made by Kent Armstrong). The neck pup is a typical sounding (in a good way) Strat pup. I paid somewhere in the $450 area for it brand new. Hope this helps.
