[QUOTE=fezz parka;4122632]Just make some grits and collard greens, you be playin' it in no time flat.

Another one of my faves:

"Someday Never Comes"! I was just thinking how much I want to play that one, but I'm afraid my friends won't go for it. One of the best, most-unheralded Fogerty songs, IMHO.

I've never heard a better character song than this one. An allstar lineup including Guy Clark himself. Unfortunately the video is slightly out of sync.

And one for the horse lovers.

I saw Kid Charlemagne and Cousin Dupree mentioned; I was thinking What a Shame about Me.

"The Road Goes on Forever" is the first song that popped in my head when I saw the title of the thread. Earl Keen is the master of these types of songs. Just pick just about any song he's written.

"Gringo Honeymoon"
"Mr. Wolf And Mamabear"
"Mariano"
"Jennifer Johnson & Me"
"Jesse with the Long Hair Hanging Down"

and my personal favorite about a whole family, "Merry Christmas from the Family."
