People steal the weirdest things...

Drove my van today since I have to pick up a bunch of beer for a nerd festival tonight - noticed on the way that my turn signals weren't working.

Got to work, and checked the lights - and the front ones are just plain gone. They were there before, and they ain't no more. Not broken, just gone. Unplugged, removed, absent completely.

Some people, ya know?

Good theory, but I haven't even gotten the beer yet and all the nerds are probably still asleep.

And it's not just the bulbs. It's the whole lens/socket assembly.

My Dad had his Tahoe at a Chevy dealership to get some warranty work done to it. While it was parked outside of the Service department overnight, someone stole his tires and rims and left it on 4 x 4 blocks. They also stole tires and rims from a couple Malibu's.

The Chevy Dealership said in weeks prior , other car dealerships were hit at night . The theives go for Tahoes and Malibu's and other auto's with 20 inch wheels.

And would'nt you know it, THe cars just happened to be in locations that could'nt be seen by the video surveilance camera's. Hmmm.

Dang Vandals !!!!

somebody stole the entire turn signal/brake light lens assembly off my pickup truck, either from the Park and Ride lot or during my son's soccer game? Neither place seems likely. Or right out of my driveway was the other choice.

Whoever it was, bless his heart, had to have opened the tailgate, unscrewed two screws, removed the lens and bulb and another screw on the outside, but left the wiring harness entirely intact.

Really could have screwed me good if they'd of ripped out the wires

Pickup truck tailgates get stolen around here alot. Ever since the automakers made it easy to remove them. Then they sell them to junk yards for $15.00.

Someone stole an old Coke machine out of the basement of our family cabin.

I figured it had to be someone that worked for a moving company, since it weighed at least 200 lbs.

Around here, lots of SUVs in dealerships have had their catalytic converters cut out overnight. People steal them for the platinum in 'em.

Just curious, what kind of van is it? Sometimes very popular vehicles get hit the most. I seem to remember a news story a few years ago where headlight assemblies from Nissan Maximas (or something like that) were being stolen in the area. Turns out the assemblies catch big money on the replacement market for some vehicles - I think in this case they cost something like $800 each to replace. Have also heard of airbags being ripped off for aftermarket sales. So, maybe it's not so strange your lights got stolen. Bastards.

Back in the early 80's I drove a beat up old chevy pickup. One night the battery was stolen from it. The next night (probably) the same guy came back and stole my brand new battery as well.

Someone stole the little plastic valve stem caps off my front tires. I'm glad they didn't steel any of the air

'96 E350. They're like $15 with shipping.

I think someone was just being a jerk, but that's just me.

Recent thief's around my area are taking truck tailgates. Dealers are now taking them off and storing them in the building.
