I dig it. Like the 3 on a side. Makes those skinny strings a little easier to bend and easier to tune on the fly!
Also like the mini in the neck. Swapped out the P-90 in my Aerodyne to a mini-hum and I am loving the LP like neck tones I am getting. |

I guess it is a Charlie Christian in the neck or some other single coil. Not a mini humbucker. |

That's a full length 25.5" inch scale. The three on a side does give this neck a very short look to it. I like the P90 in the neck. The elbow cut in an offset body probably makes this a very comfortable guitar.

Now that I've seen the close-up of it... looks more like Music Man made a Tele.
I totally dig it. P90s don't do much in my hands, but I'm willing to bet that I'd love that guitar just like it is.

Hint: Don't ask Redd why he's playing a Carvin...
We talked about that guitar for a bit last time I wandered down to the local club. I don't remember the pickup builder, but I think the neck pickup is based on a Dearmond, not a p-90. And I think I remember Redd went through a number of pickup combinations before settling on that one. And Redd had very nice things to say about Mr. Asher and his guitars. Sounded terrific, but Redd can make anything sound great - even a SS Peavey |

Nice-looking twist on the Tele, indeed.
I'll hopefully have a chance to check it out day-after-tomorrow. Headed to happy hour for my b-day. p.s. His Marc Ford signature model is calling my name, too.

I'll be the dissenter... never liked 3-on-a-side on a Tele style guitar
I'm sure Redd will work magic with it of course. I like the sort of offset make-over of the body, ala Jaguar... I'd like it a lot more if had 6-on-a-side.

I agree, too. But, I guess it's a bit much to ask a guy to come up with an entirely new headstock.
At least it's not 5 & 1, or 4 & 2, or some other such BS. Scott
