Of course not. No one's saying anything about his music, but he does dress like a rodeo clown from 1983... Just sayin'

(Although now that I think about it his music, ummm, ain't exactly my cup of tea, know what I mean?)

Just carrying on the tradition, that's all... Your post was missing the obligatory JMHO tag . If I had his money and career, you can bet your boots I'd go see Manuel and get him to make me some suits too...
Matter of taste.

Exactly.

But it's clearly not just MY humble opinion though is it? There seem to be others who also think Marty looks totally daft...

Love the suit, the terrible hair, no shirt, shiny bandana look though... Ummmmm...??

(OK, I'll stop now, I'm only having a bit of fun with ya)

Don't get my wrong, his Nudie and Manuel suits are awesome! I wish I had the $$$ to have a few of my own.

I don't mind the pompamullet or the suit. It's part of his act. Heck, if I wasn't follicularly impaired I'd prolly have a big old afro. I'm a live and let live kind a guy, but the kid with the pink pants is wrong in so many ways.

I remember a girlfriend in h.s. that didn't enjoy the Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan because it wasn't "very realistic". That's when I knew that relationship was never going to work.

You will be better off without her Little Buddy.

Lots of womenfolk.

Only one Marty Stuart.

Here he is last Sunday. Decked out in some of Manuel's finest. Hardly over the top at all...

Hillbilly clothes.

Hillbilly hair.

Nothing really outrageous.

Personally, nobody in country music now can rock the "pompamullet", or the Nudie and Manuel suits like Marty and the boys can. I dig those suits and if I had the cash likewise would own a few myself. Above and beyond the whole appearance thing Marty is a super human being and superb musician. ~ IMHO

The suit looks awesome. However, the bare skin under his suit jacket, coupled with that neck thingie, looks weird.

It looks like he's wearing a frogskin shirt

I'm sure I have a half interesting comment but I'm still laughing my butt off at "pompamullet".

The necktie thing makes him look like he belongs in a 70's Swedish Erotica film. Some of you will know what I'm talking about.

Big Marty Stuart fan, and I like his whole thing (giant hair, neckerchief...). It works for him because he owns it and it's part of his charm, but there's no way on earth I'd EVER try and defend his visual style choices to my wife or anyone. That would just be crazy. At the same time, somehow I'd be a little disappointed if he cut off all his hair and just started wearing jeans and looked like anyone off the street. It would be like a part of him died. :(

I love Marty Stewart's guitar playing and singing, but I can't stand his look.
Still, that doesn't ever stop me from dialing in on listening to his music, i just take it for what it is.

It's the tradition he comes from rooted deep in country & western music.
His look has gone in and out of style several times over, but his music never does.
So while I don't really give a damn how he dresses, he does look tacky as all get out.

From the "pompamullett" to the tan and body suits and stitching, he's way otu there and looks like some kind of gay troubador with that damn neckerchief. But whatever floats his boat I guess.
