Your care and compassion for Wally is truly inspiring. When and if you are ready there are many deserving dogs out there who could use a companion like you. RIP, Wally- you could not have asked for a more peaceful and reassuring passing.

My Corgi is 12 and in pretty good shape but he's got me through a divorce and the thought of losing him any time soon scares me. I know that I'll get another dog immediately if not sooner when he goes. I just have to have one. Your very blessed to have a pet you loved for 17 years but I'm sure it makes it that much harder to loose them. My last dog was put to sleep in my arms after 14 years and I bawled like a baby for 20 min.

Heard this today and thought of this thread. Great song about a man and his dog. You'll be walking down country lanes, calling his name, again some day.

I am sorry about Wally. Dogs truely are man's best friend. Give youself a litte time to heal and go get another dog. I know it's hard but it's worth the pain for the love and joy they bring.
