I'm Avaiable...

if Fender wants to buy me. Price negotiable, but not that high.

start to worry if they "diversify"

and start buying food companies. Fender guitar soup with little Tele and Strat noodles.

Actually, I thought Sam Ash bought Thoroughbred.

Mars wasn't sold to MF, it was liquidated.

Fender doesn't own Gretsch.

I may be wrong, but I think CBS bought Rogers, not Fender.

Personally, I like the SWR acquisition. It'll improve the service network.

Fender does not own Gretsch, at least yet. Here's the deal: http://news.harmony-central.com/News...h-Guitars.html

Guitar Center bought Musicians Friend who bought Mars Music who bought Throughbred Music.

This reminds me of the Aerospace consolidations.

Who's next, Rickenbacher? Will Fender end up owning Gibson some day?

Yep. I think it's as close to a purchase as you can get, but knowing the history of Gretsch, I don't think Fred Gretsch is ever going to let the company name leave the family's control again.
