The eternal, undeniable, universal truth:
You reap what you sow.
Somewhere, somehow.
Remember that, you guitar stealers.

what i find just as disgusting is the number of people who would never consider stealing a guitar, but if the price is right, have no problems buying one with no questions asked so they can pretend they didn't know it was stolen.

1,000 bucks for a broadcaster?!?!?! SURE!

Thieves are less than human, it's a pity such beautiful instruments will no longer be used for making great music.

I cast some Dark Kharma on those nasty little thieves. Scott's Epiphone? Where's Joe Friday when you need him?

At least they didn't get the most famous one-- the solid body Rick twelve string on the front of Damn the Torpedos

Sadly, it was probably inevitable that Tom, Mike, Ron and Scott would get something stolen one day. They have so many of them, are very open about their guitars, the history behind them, and so forth. I immediately thought of Mike's '59 Burst, his original Strat and his Broadcaster. Also, that weirdo Rickenbacker Mike has. I'm glad those are safe.

Terrible.

Do we know the serial on the Broadcaster?

Is this a regular 360/12 or one with a wider neck?

It's a "regular" 1967 360/12 with serial number GH 3747. I haven't seen a serial number for the Broadcaster, but I'm sure that information will be available somewhere.

Just try to imagine the bad rock and roll karma you get for ripping off Tom Petty. Not cool.

I would hope these would be hard to sell given all the documentation and publicity concerning them.

A potential buyer would have to alter them thereby ruining the true value...I would think.

To put some perspective on it - if any of us, who own 3-5 guitars on average, had that happen to us it would be tragic, horrible, and life-changing.

Those guys ? A complete drag and a violation to be sure but - even Ron Blair is rich beyond any of us here and there's no way they're not insured.

I've seen the practice space photos. There are literally hundreds of guitars left...
