I have come to the conclusion that I am not a real Canucks fan. I thought that I used to be a real fan. I had been a fan since I was a kid and I have watched them go the Stanley Cup final 3 times and blow it. I just can`t take it any more. They have been consistently inconsistent for the past 40 years. I am just tired of being let down after cheering them on for so many years. I had a lot of fun along the way, but last year broke this camel`s back. I am fed up, pi**ed off, and sick and tired. Time to move on. Thanks for the memories guys, we had some real good players. If you make it this year, great. I just won`t be a part of it. Heck maybe I am the one that`s been a curse all these years!

Sorry for the rant...

I wonder if it's easier being a Leafs fan? There's no hope of them ever winning, but it's fun to cheer them on anyway. There's no way to be disappointed if expectations are always low.

Thats what I like to hear! I am a fellow Wings fan here in Michigan. Sucks we lost today, and I dont like being down 2-1 in the series, but its far from over.

Kind of surprised to see the Penguins down 0-3. Although I have to admit, I like it!

Why? The Flyers have owned them lately, and the Penguins fight like girls (hair pulling and all).

Down 0-3...if the Canucks go out in the 1st round...does Vigneault or the GM take the fall...?

Vigneualt was hired by Dave Nonis, not by Mike Gillis. Therefore, he takes the fall.
However, I think they need to shake up the top six. Kesler and Raymond need to go. That will make room for Rick Nash.

I think the Canucks have a good core, look at what Hitchcock is doing with the Blues. New coach might turn it around...

The Canucks as an entire team have not changed enough. The entire team does not believe they can win in the playoffs. Don't get me wrong; I love them and will always cheer them on, but I think they need a shake up and it's time to get some new blood in there. I think every one of the guys on that team get intimidated by teams like Boston and Chicago because pretty much everybody was on the team over the last couple of years when those teams beat them.

I stand by my prediction earlier in this thread: Chicago vs Philly in the finals. If the Flyers keep playing their best game, I think they'll win it all.

I'm going with Nashville and Philly in the Final.

I love good, tough, clean hockey.

I almost can't watch this year. Cheap shot after cheap shot after cheap shot. With, so far, not much in the way of consequences.

Just saw the hit on Hossa by Torres. Arguably late, but definitely left his feet. I hope Torres is done for the playoffs and maybe more. And I hope Hossa will be ok.

The playoffs this year are a disgrace.

Cheers,
Geoff

No matter what decade you talk about, these guys always end up looking like animals out of control when this stuff breaks out.

If the people in charge truly wanted this stuff out of the game, they would suspend some of these guys for an entire season. That would stop it in a hurry. Five and ten minute penalties are a joke.

4 officials and nobody saw that?

Nice to see the hawks retaliate with a goal instead of a headhunt.

Torres has a history. I say 10 games...which will end his playoffs as it should.

NBC had a bench interview with Joel Quenneville and he's understandably spitting mad. Good thing that the Hawks have been able to control their anger for the most part. There is no place in hockey for garbage like that.

Torres doesn't even qualify as a goon...he's just a thug...

Unless he's on your team, they still miss him here. He's one of the few players that gives 120% each and every shift. He does play on the edge but I bet any team would love to have him during the playoffs.

Yea, I was waiting for someone to reference that...why do I even bother w/predictions. I'm actually a Philly fan too. My typical negative sports attitude is due to my having zero confidence in Bryzgalov. I still don't, I just didn't think that Fluery would stink even more.

Some great offensive players on these teams, some breakdowns defensively, but both goalies have been brutal. Really like this Flyers team, but still see goaltending as a huge weakness that bites them in the in the later rounds. Bryz tends to let in at least one 'head scratcher' every game. Besides that extremely hot shutout streak later in the season, he's been shaky all along. Unless he finds a similar groove to his hot stretch of play, no way the Flyers advance past the Rangers and Bruins, teams with superior goalies who've owned the Flyers this season.

I am thoroughly enjoying this series so far however. Was great seeing the Pens lose their composure on Sunday, looking forward to more of that tonight. That Crosby really does behave like a baby.

Wait a minute. When he was complaining to the refs about getting hooked, cross-checked, held, and cheap-shotted, he was a whiner. Now, he pushes and shoves back, gets involved in the post-whistle scrums, and even gets into something of a fight, and he's a baby?? If that's your definition of a baby, then the league is full of them.
