If YOU won the $540 million....
Mega millions lottery tonight, what would YOU do...?!?!
I'd tell the wife to pack and head of to a remote location to research financial advisors.

Buy the largest plot of land I could. Fence it in and tell the world to FOAD.

Wow. I'd take care of the wife, the kids, a charity or two. Buy a nicer house a cool car. Renovate my current house and give it to someone who needs it more. Carve out a fat piece of cash to put into a lifetime annuity to make sure that now matter how stupid I got, I'll always have an income. Sock the rest away, and travel the world seeking out cool guitars. Then when I got bored, I'd open a restaurant, where I would spend my days hanging out, talking to people all day. Talking with people, hearing their stories, sharing my own...thats really my very favorite past time.

I would buy all of the guitars. All of them.
Seriously, probably something more along the lines of what Rev said. Glad to see there are so many charitable people on the forum. That is more money than I could ever hope to spend, I would think. I would donate a large partion of it to charity and service projects after making sure my family was taken care of. I would also buy a farm for myself and probably build a recording studio as well as get a few guitars and amps. Some would be invested so it could grow and provide a source of income. I would want to make sure I could maintain a comfortable lifestyle, but not one of excess. I have no need for that. Politics asise, one of the things I like about Ralph Nader is that he pretty much only keeps enough income to live off of, more or less. He donates most of his income to those less fortunate. I think that is admirable. I might not take it to those extremes, but I like the idea. I also might do like the Route 29 batman. If ya'll haven't heard of him, check this link. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...PjgS_blog.html Of course $540 mil doesn't go as far as it used to these days. But hey, at least I would be able to afford to fill up my car. |
