Still they come
I have this sign posted directly next to my doorbell.
Yet they still come to the door. Maybe I should answer the door while jacking a round into the 12 gage pump !! I don't care what you want, if you interrupt my nap I get real cranky. |

having a driveway that is 112' long and with a elevation of 20' stops most folks from just dropping by |

"DAY SLEEPER, DO NOT DISTURB" used to be a sign I'd see. I know I never messed with them.

I mean I can see this is a posted sign, the question is what does it say I know the answer lies in an obscure and arcane legal thing |

http://www.amazon.com/All-About-Sign...2793691&sr=8-1 I don't think it would have lasted very long (exposed to the weather) without the six coats of clear-coat I put on it. |

Perhaps you could get a doorbell that sounds
like the aforementioned shell chambering. That way you wouldn't have to get up, unless they rang twice. Or you could do the anger management training thing. Or you could just let them wait. |

ha! I used to do business to business sales and I used to love walking into businesses with no soliciting signs. If you didn't, you would never make any money. I probably know some of the cats that have come knocking around your door. Were they selling at&t by any chance? One of the guys I used to work with used to sell Quill, which is office supplies in case any of ya'll didn't know. One of my favorite stories, the veracity of I can not vouche for, was when he went into a business and they said something about no soliciting, he pointed out that they did not have a no soliciting sign and then proceeded to sell them a no soliciting sign.

We just don't answer the door. Everyone we know calls before they come the rest might as well stay home. We have become somewhat expert at ignoring the doorbell. The dogs, not so much.

I look out the window, if I don't see someone I know, I just go about my business.
Back when I had a home phone, the soliciters would call and go into their spiel without giving you the opportunity to opt out, I'd set the phone down and go about my business until it did the phone off the hook tone. I just don't feel any obligation to participate |

I had a roomate that was a door to door salesman selling about everything you could think of-he liked it and was good at it. He told me he would target a house with a NO SOLICITERS sign on the door with the theory that the housewife bought everthing she saw and the husband had put the sign up to shut her down. This was long before the home shopping network and he said it was a productive strategy.
