Congrats! And Envy! I spent two weeks in London last year and fell head-over-heels in love with the place. If I could find a legit reason to, I'd move in a heartbeat. They're probably doing fine without this American illustrator and guitarist though - plenty of good ones over there already ;)

Cool move, congrats.
now if your cat starts meowing in a cockney accent - she's probably hanging out with some locals.

Enjoy.
Remember to grab on to your trousers (desist from calling them pants) at front of each thigh, hoick them up and dance your way to everywhere, mainly sideways and backwards, singing umdiddle umdiddle umdiddle ai. It's the done thing old bean. :) |

I hope I can meet some of you to chat Teles! I was able to bring guitars but had to leave my amps behind because of a combination of the voltage thing, lack of space, and living in a flat. So my '66 Deluxe Reverb, a Super Champ, and a pair of late '50s Princetons are in storage. Boo major Hoo!
On the other hand I can barely play at beginner level, so the neighbors will be happy. I'll take some pics of the neighborhood. I'm over in an area next to the south end of Tower Bridge. And yeah, I've already got lots of strange looks asking clerks for denim pants until a relative here explained it to me. Boy, those would have really chafed. Luckily I've got a friend here who explains things like "it's all gone pear-shaped" while I explain what it means to give someone "the stink eye." Cross-cultural exchange.

Culture? - improve your slang - as in "the situation has assumed rotund pearosity".
The thought of denim pants made my eyes water. They must be very uncomfortable under your trousers. Do tell us you don't wear denim pants back home? And don't try to do cod cockerney like Dick Van Dyke, he'd worked here for years and was taking the Michael with that accent. That might cause even stranger reactions than you wearing denim pants, or maybe not, it depends on how you manage to walk. And try not to mimic a store clerk if they ask you to "walk this way", certainly don't ask if they have denim pants on.

Congrats, Bill! I remember how much you and your wife loved your year there, so I'm not surprised that you've moved back. The closest to London I've gotten is Enniscorthy, Ireland, but one of these days I want to check it out.
Take care! Tim |

![]() That's not Fog. Looks more like a light mist to me. I grew up in Nova Scotia. The Fog was so thick Michelin developed special Tires for it. To the OP London is a great Town. I was lucky enough to spend 3 months of my life there. I also spent one of the coldest Summers of my life in San Francisco. |

Someone asked for pics of the neighborhood. I just took some pics of the area for a block or two each way:

It's simple. It's kind of a TDPRI Exchange program. You go to London, Big John goes to Texas.
I hope to get back there again some day. I like it when folks make major moves like that.
