Mile rutherford and daryl sturmer of Genesis swap between guitar and bass when playing live, both pretty good.

And who can forget the guys from spinal tap when playing their classic hit, big bottom!

Hamish Stuart formerly of Paul McCartney's band and Average White Band is great on both. He's a great singer too.

Steve Wariner. I have several albums by Chet Atkins with Steve playing bass on them. Have "heard' that Buddy Emmons is a great bass player, too. Mark O'conner...fiddle, guitar, bass. Waylon Jennings. John Fogerty.

Id have to go with prince. Haven't listened to it in a while but I remember his bass playing on lady cab driver being particularly funky, & I'm sure many have already seen the greatest guitar solo of all time clip

Then I was confused on some info. Thanks. I will +1 Paul McCartney. When I saw him in the 90s, he was amazing.

I've heard that Joe Osborne, in addition to be an outstanding and influential bassist, was a great guitar player too.

Mitch Watkins is great on both.
Mitch plays with (among many others) Bob Schneider, Lyle Lovett, and
Paul Glasse.
The late Lenny Breau was brilliant on both, too.

I can't think of anyone who is a master at both. But for being great on both acoustic guitar and electric guitar and recognized as such is Richard Thompson.

Terry Kath played a lot of the more involved Chicago bass parts.
(Not to dis Cetera, I think it was for expedience's sake.)

hendrix played the bass part in the studio 90% of the time.

noel redding was out at some pub while hendrix was doing the bass part to all along the watchtower.

though not a master, Lenny Kravitz plays both. Sheryl Crow falls into the same category( for me).

Lonnie Mack was a pretty decent bass player; I know I've seen him credited on bass on an album here and there.
