If one more person says "LIKE" I'm going to scream
...and she's like, and he's like, and I'm l like, and they're like.
AHHHHHHH!!!!! I am so sick of it! What ever became of 'he said, she said, I said, they said' ?

there was once a reporter at the tv station where i work who used "like" as if she got paid a dollar every time she said the word. i would note with tally marks each time she said it in the daily story pitch meetings. i once jotted down 33 marks during a pitch lasting less than two minutes.

I believe Charles Schulz covered this in a 1966 Peanuts strip.

He worked there, not a viewer. Why wouldn't he just address it in person instead?

I can overlook when teenagers do it but when people in their twenties and thirties and beyond keep on with it, then I start rolling my eyes.

I have noticed for many years, that NFL players use "You know" relentlessly during interviews. Next time, watch and begin to count how many times a player will use ". . . you know . . .". Once you notice it, it will become extremely annoying. I saw one guy that used "you know" at least 10 times during three sentences. Kinda like sucks, you know?
