Yeah, my buddies here in the UK always want me to bring them some back whenever I go home!

I've had a couple of pairs of Levi's in the past couple of years that didn't last me 6 months. I wore them maybe a couple of days a week max. The quality doesn't warrant the cost IMO.

Yeah, I just got 2 pairs of 501s for $32 each on sale (tagged @ $65 ea). It's about all I wear, when I'm not wearing surf trunks or cargo shorts ;o)
I've seen no quality drop in the ones I've bought since the '70s. They keep the good ones for California, where they were born ;o) Last edited by tap4154; March 6th, 2012 at 10:02 PM. |

A man in good boots and faded blue jeans has the power to make a gal fall out of love with guitars. Grrrrrrrrrrrrowl...good jeans are worth every pound or dollar!

My wife got me 2 pairs for Christmas. I have worn them all my life. She bought these from the Levis online store and they fit like crap, only have 3 small buttons plus the main one, and are made in Egypt. I might become a Wrangler convert.

Levis makes several levels of 501s...
The pair shown is known as the Vintage/Genuine. Thicker material, rivets in the right places, leather rather than fiber size patch, etc Material is the selvedge 27" wide cloth off the original looms. Made in America. Another 501 model a few steps down are made in Mexico with 13oz non slevedge cloth and double stitched inseam. There are other 501 models.. again lower quality and available $32-36... trash. If Carharts would lower the rise, put buttons on the fly, their product would kill Levi sales. In my opinion they are all substandard and grossly overpriced. Nothing like the levis of yesteryear. http://us.levi.com/product/index.jsp...46845.11326985 |

I wore Levi's all my life until about 2 years ago. The quality just got so bad I had to stop buying them. Overpriced junk. I do still have one pair of quality ones that I've had a long time. Patching them has become a part-time hobby of mine. I loves my patchy jeans. They are getting a bit thin, though.
