Well....MANY hours and pitchers of beer later SRV finally makes his appearance. If I remember correctly he open with Voodo Chile. He was SO LOUD that I looked like that old Maxell ad where the guy is in the seat and his hair is flying and drinks are falling over etc. I was also so beered up that I could not deal with said volume. Did I mention how LOUD he was? Anyhoo...I split, don't think I even heard a full song.

I went someplace quiet and got a beer.

Having seen them in the flesh in the 80's, and all their concert DVDs since then, I'd humbly suggest that most of the people at their shows for the past 35 years have also missed them.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

A few months back my wife and I missed Bill Frisell playing the chapel we were married in.. It's a small room (capacity is appx. 150 people), in a gothic revival building by one of my favorite architects (A.E. Doyle), and the acoustics are fantastic. My wife's grandmother passed away, so we of course went to the memorial service down in the bay area instead of the concert.

Peter Gabriel "So Tour" Meadowlands NJ

My friend said "We'll go through Manhattan, there wont be any traffic on a Saturday evening".

Aftrer we were trapped in a traffic jam for +2 hours, we missed the show. I still have the un-ripped tickets.

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones

After hearing their first 3 albums I was pumped to finally get a chance to catch them live in Tacoma back about '93/94. Got 1 ticket for myself since the (then) wife wasn't interested.

The concert was on a Friday evening, and I had such a shattering physical day at work that the prospect of driving all that way down just didn't appeal to me that evening. So I blew it off and ate the cost of the ticket!

:(

Lynyrd Skynyrd 1976

had two tickets in my hand. Sold them because of because I didn't have anyone to go with. My best friend moved away just the month before.

I should have gone anyway.
