Yea, no single one. I'm just learning so I want to try them all to find where I fit. So I'm playing country, rock, blues, everything I can figure out.

Don't have a "fav". But, the ones I like to listen to the MOST are Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Les Paul & Mary Ford, Phil Baugh, Roy Nichols, Joe Maphis, Scotty Anderson, Buster Jones, Thom Bresh, Vince Gill, Will Ray, Brent Mason, Jerry Reed, Redd V., Andy Reiss (Time Jumpers), Clint Strong, Leon Rhoads, Jimmy Short, Jimmy Bryant, Roy Clark, Grady Martin, Speedy Haworth, Don Rich, Luther Perkins, Bob Wooten, Carl Perkins, Frank Reckard, Albert Lee, Mark O'Conner (Yes, the FIDDLE player, helluva guitar banger), Homer Haynes (from Homer & Jethro, a GREAT jazz guitarist!), The Ventures (original lineup), Scotty Moore, James Burton, Danny Gatton, John Fogerty.
This list is far from complete and in no particular order except for Chet Atkins, i suppose. I'm SURE I left some out, but I'm sure you can tell by my "list" what sort of stuff I like. I like melodic, tuneful, soothing guitar playing.

quite easily. iv never got the whole buzz with SRV, to ME hes just a blues player in a silly hat.
for me its either John Frusciante - probably the best player alive IMHO. or Slash, yeah give me all the jip about him being overrated you aint gonna sway my opinion. no one elses solos move me like his.

Yeah, any given day it's somebody else, but if I could ony choose one I guess it would be David Gilmour. Or Mark Knophler. Or EVH. Or....

I don't know if I'd call him my favorite guitarist, but certainly the one I am most grateful for is Andres Segovia. IMHO no one has come close to expanding the instrument's repertoire and changing the way we see what is possible on the instrument the way he did.
