If the manager and kids really pissed me off enough I'd swing by the wallmart and get an airhorn then go back in. There's either a noise restrictionon there isn't.

Here in Austin, TX, at the coolest theater ever, they dont mess around. And they serve beer and food to your seat. And if you are obnoxious, they will kick you out, no sweat. Read this article, and if you are offended by language, dont watch the clip, but its great.

you could have taken the opportunity to make out with your wife..... very noisily... just like old times..Damn the torpedos..... that's what you take "chicks" to the movies for, isn't it?... mmm?

that may have grossed the teens out into silence at least.... or given them something to cheer about....
way to go, grandad,, woo hoo....

I know it was "only a movie".. how much were the tickets?.... worth causing a scene in the foyer over?.... getting steamed up on a "once a year" outing?... and a grumble on the way home?...

not me, If I walk out of places with a lady under my arm in your situation... fussing with a dork at the booth is beneath me at that point..

"Come on Honey, let's blow this place it's not for us..let's find something better to do... keep the fun going, not bring it down....

I understand taking your missus out for a nice dinner as a treat... I'd have considered some music, dancing and few nightcaps, etc....afterwards ...

rather than sitting through a movie in silence... or chatter/clatter in this case....

I mean, you can watch movies in the quiet of your home these days...

I thought you were going to say you walked out because the film was so bad. A few years ago we went to see "Alpha Dogs" and I wish we had walked out.
We go to the cinema once or twice a month, never really had any bother here in the UK despite this not being the best area in the county but as mentioned before we tend to go to the latest viewing

The choice of movies must make a difference. I never see bad behavior in movie theaters.

I still like going to movies, the big screen, etc.

I wait a week or so after the release and I also try to go during the day to avoid the crowds. w/ this approach many times I'll see a first run movie w/ a hand full of folks, or just me and my wife. Increases enjoyment.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience, and your ruined night. Especially when I know how hard it is to get a night out. My wife and I also very seldom get out together.

As far as the theater, that's why I go to movies at a theater we have on our military base. They have no problem tossing people out!!!

What I find interesting is that the studios are so focused on chasing down individuals for piracy, but are doing nothing to improve the situation with going to movies live. I love to go to movies. But do to the rudeness, food costs, and the a lot of movies only being available in 3D which I have no desire to watch, we go less and less.

I do still do go, but I won't go to a theatre anytime near an opening weekend. And I pick the times that will be the least busy. EG a late afternoon matinee of a 14+-R rated movie is generally pretty empty at those times.

Yeah I remember seeing the first of the new Star Wars movies in Queens on a Friday night. For a stuffy Brit like me it was quite a revelation to see and hear the constant noise from the audience. Terrible film anyway, but a lesson learned about US movie theatre situation.

That's become an all-too-common story these days. When we went to see The Dark Knight a few years back, we had to deal with cellphones, screaming kids running around the theater and morons shouting their running commentary at the screen. Complaining to the on-duty manager (a teenager) afterwards, all she could say was, "what am I supposed to do about it?"

We got full refunds and passes to another showing (yeah, like I'm ever coming back here again) but it's really been a turning point for me... I only go out to see movies now when I know it will be better on the big screen (Hugo in 3D comes to mind) and I'm picky about where and when I'll go. And I don't hesitate to leave and get a refund at the first sign of that cr@p now.

Find all their parents and beat them.

It's going to be real interesting what this country will be like in 50 years.

Ya there are still good people out there, but this cancer of CRAP BAGS is growing...............generations of them, their parents were CRAP BAGS, and so where their grandparents.

What the heck chance to they have to be decent, SELF SUPPORTING, productive people. Not much, CRAP BREEDS CRAP, its the Circle Of Life. Only difference is in the animal world, all the CRAP BAGS are weeded out................survival of the fittest.

Yeah, I've got a few friends in that part of the country. One of the last bastions of sensibility and common courtesy in this country.
