Playground in my Mind. I had to babysit a tractor-driven water pump one summer (my first 'real job.' I think I was 10 or 11) and the only consolation was my old AM radio, and that song played constantly.

It's not from my childhood, but I'd love to do a cover of "Commissioning a Symphony in C." I play it solo on acoustic sometimes.

Nice! Loves me some CAKE. They have so many songs I'd love to do.

David Bowie - Let's Dance. I was 12 when it was released. I was crazy about that song.

I'd love to re-do both of these gems....
The Music Explosion - Little Bit O' Soul... one of the great "garage band" songs.

Every Mothers Son - Come on down to My Boat, Baby... The timing in this song just fascinates me.

I had my first really great make-out session, with a really cute gal, to that song. Played over and over on a 45 single set to repeat.

Yowza.

(raises glass) here's a toast to super groovy hippie chicks.

Then you all tuned into my Badfinger thing.
Love that song. Pop-perfect. Can't imagine improvement. Maybe more horns.

And here is mine...

Emitt Rhodes (the "other" Paul McCartney)

When I first heard this song it knocked me away. Love those crunchy guitar tones.

Emitt is definitely worth checking out.

I was in a band that played this, but next time I want to be the one playing the solo instead of just singing - I think I'll go away now and try learning it!
