Sahara
Took the family to see it last night, I had reservations since I'm a big Clive Cussler fan, I've read all his books and I was afraid that the movie wouldn't live up to the book.
The last movie based on one of his books was such a stinker ( Raise the Titannic) that he didn't want any more done for years, but apperently he changed his mind. Sahara still wasn't as good as the book IMHO, but we all enjoyed it, it was action packed and had a lot of humor. I think the last line was when Dirk told her that she "threw like a girl" referring to when she was throwing the dynamite , but I could be wrong. |

Hey, thanks Ringo, I've got my reservations as well, having read all of the Cussler books, but I plan to see the movie with an open mind, and just enjoy the ride.
As long as someone can tell me that it was better than what they did to Jurassic Park, I'll be happy.

yep just enjoy the ride
My family had no knowledge of Dirk Pitt except for the little bit that I told them about the books, and they enjoyed the movie, ages range from 12-21.
I think you'll like it, sort of Bond meets Indiana Jones .... |

Got dragged to it on Sunday
It was really bad.
I fell asleep within the first fifteen minutes and stayed in a stupor the entire time. There was zero chemistry between the leads, the story was implausible to say the least and the action lacked any resemblance of luster. The recycling of tired classic rock (Majic Crapit Ride) songs I've heard six million times didn't help matters. On the bright side it made my fiancee happy, so it was all worth it. I think. |
