Play It, Steve (Cropper)

www.playitsteve.com is a great Steve Cropper site (official).

Anybody see the "Saturday Night Live--First Five Years" special on the tube last month? They showed the first Blues Brothers performance of "Soul Man", and Steve's guitar was mixed way up front--man, that is some rhythm playing!

It's okay. I love Cropper. I ordered the cd's from his site about 5 years ago or so. I just wish they'd update the site a little more often.

TBD

Although the critics take pot shots at it I love the Jeff Beck album Steve produced. I don't think there is a title but it has snapshots of the band and an orange on the cover.

Man, I love Steve Cropper's playing.

I still can't believe that it's not him on Tony Joe White's "Poke Salad Annie".

I don't wish to say anything bad about TJW, but gawd, that sure sounds like Cropper...to my ears, anyway.
