ARGH! FedEx lost my amp!

I shipped a Fender London Reverb 1x12 to a nice fella in Nashville on March 29th...

Well I just got an official confirmation that FedEx has lost the amp. They mentioned something about an employee stealing a truck full of packages.

So now I have to deal with the headache of filing stupid claim forms. And of course I have to send this nice fella back his money...

ARGH!!!!!

if it helps

I recieved a broken guitar from them; and they made good on the damage claim. I know it's not the same as your case, but I had no trouble with them.
Good luck.

That sucks man... I hope your claim goes through without pain and that at least you recover your money. I must say that I've had only one problem with FedEx: a damaged Tele I shipped to FL.

If they told you that an employee took a truck, that's an admission of fault. You should have no problem with your claim seeing that they told you exactly what happened. It's clearly their problem.

I sent a guitar to someone last year and FedEx Ground lost it for a week. Eventually, it just turned up for delivery.

NOW you know why I always tell you to USE an ASHTRAY instead of putting your cigarette on your amp!?!

    Ahhh, Fed-Ex...

Both my sister-in-laws work there, and I use to hold a job as a shipper/receiver and used them constantly with absolutely no problem.

Then... I shipped an amp back to Rivera in California (to get tweaked) via overnight sevice. Well, it got there. After it had fallen out of one of their bins pulled by a "tug" (those little vehicles that pull around the frieght containers) while coming into receiving, and was then run over by said "tug".

While they admitted what happened they only half way took responsibility for thier actions, they utilized a loophole to stick me for $1700.00 of the $2200.00 I had insured the amp for. Nice. And it took a year to get the $500.00 out of them that I did get. I tapped out when my lawyer said I'd likely win in court, but it might cost me a small fortune (and a LOT of time) just to get the judgement.

Fortunately, my home insurance picked up the balance owing, (though even they were pretty amazed at Fed-Ex's shuffle to get out of paying the claim, at least partially), so in the end it all worked out. What a pain in the keister though.

It's the ONLY bad experience I've had with them, but what a doozy...

Let us know how this turns out. You'd think this was a pretty cut and dried case and they should pay up pretty quickly. (Did you sell the amp in a listed auction of which there is a record? You don't get a much clearer definition of "fair market value" than that.)

    Ace Ventura Amp Defective

I'll bet the you the "X" driver , probably has a couple 'o tele's and a strat , at home, and your amp, would make a fine addition to his gear collection,,at no additonal cost
