LP to MP3/WMA Conversion recommendations

I'm looking to convert a number of my old LPs to digital and would like recommendations on software I can use to make the task easier. I've seen some positive reviews of LP Recorder/Ripper and i-Sounds products but would like some first hand feedback from anyone whose been there/done that. Also, any feelings on WMA vs MP3?

Thanks.

EAC

EAC (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de) is probably the most accurate ripper out there, and it's free. It will give you .WAVs or .MP3s. I guess Windows Media Player will save a .wav to .wma, if you want it.

I use Cakewalk Pyro. Often $24.95 on sale at CompUSA. Works just fine for recording LPs, and has built in noise and pop filters that really work. It has built in EQ and some other effects (in case you really want to reverb-up that old Hank Williams LP). It can also be used for ripping and burning CDs. It does MP3s in a variety of format, as well as WAVs. Not sure if it does WMA.

Only problem now is that my turntable completely died and I don't want to spend more than $50 to get a new one, since my ultimate goal is to get rid of all my LPs after burning the few I can't find on CD...
