Question: An Epiphone Les Paul Jr. or Squire Bullet Special

I just bought a Roland Micro Cube portable amp to keep in my truck so I can play during my lunch breaks. I'd like to get an inexpensive guitar to keep behind the seat so I don't have to lug my Strat (and worry about it getting stolen). I've looked at the Epiphone Les Paul Jr. and the Squire Bullet Special. Both are under a $100 and no frills (single pick ups). I've heard good things about both plus there's a great set up guy where I live. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

P.S. The Micro Cube is blast. Has some great emulations and can run on 6 AA batteries. I paid $120 for it over the net.

Apples and oranges.
Both are tidy little guitars after a good setup.

I have the Epi. Jr.

I love it. The coolest cheapo I've ever owned. Its solid, comfortable, frets are nice. Stays in tune, looks and sounds great.

I'd reccommend the Epi, I've always been let down by Squier's tuners which give me no end of trouble.

I too recommend the Epi. I bought on when they made the double cutaway version. Stop Bar tailpiece...1 P-90. Cool little axe, for real cheap.

Yeah, the version with the single P-90 was flat out fabulous! I had a chance to buy one for a hundred bucks about five years ago and I didn't pull the trigger. Still kicking myself...

Cheers, Tim

yeah, they've actually gotten kinda pricey now...considering they were 149 bucks new. I wonder why they quit making that guitar?

epi's

epiphones have gotten more interesting to me lately since i found out that they've been built in an epiphone-only factory that gibson built and set up in China in 2002 or 2003. i think they used to be made in korea (maybe by samick). knowing that this plant is building just epi's and that they're using gibson specs makes the lower priced epiphones very appealing (always wanted a Les Paul, and to get one for $500-600...hmmmm....)
