We're neaby, will try to come over
Hey Buck,
That's cool. Damon is damn good. He plays a local gig with my guitar tech. Ed Wright on Monday evenings. I think Damon works with Rick Derringer for recoding here in town. Good solid roots there. Sounds like fun! Hope you have a good trip here to FL! David

["What's your connection with Damon?"]
The owner of "The Music Ranch" wanted the best of the west meets the best of the east show.. I got the call after they heard my CD.. and they said no one has ever forget Roy Buchanan out there, so it's going to be fun.. Now as far as me really being the best in the west.. LOL! I'm a puppy.. But its very falttering none the less to be considered even in that league... So---- lets just hope I can rip my heart out on the stage and do a good job at this supposed best from the west guy.. and not disapoint the troops. I checked out Damon's sound clips and totally DUG em ALL.. especially Rollin' and a Tumblin Live!!! www.damonfowler.com [/quote] |

Doh! You said May, not March. Haha. I just checked out Damon's website, and I had a conversation with the guy on March 17th at a gig we played at O'Briens in Brandon, FL. They had a large St. Patty's day blowout. They were the band before us, not like they were opening for our crappy cover band, haha, I guess that's just how it worked out. We talked amps and guitars for a little while. What a small world. I'll try to make it out in May to check you both out, should be a good time.

Florida TDPRI get-together
I don't know that we could organize a jam to coincide with this gig, but it might be worthwhile to plan some kind of get-together anyway. I have lived in Florida for a year and a half, and haven't seen much good live music or met any TDPRI members. Lakeland is fairly well-located for something like this, not too far from Orlando, Tampa, or either coast. It's a Saturday night show, so if you have to drive a few hours, you'd have time to get there and could drive home on Sunday.
Who know, maybe the club could host a jam early on Sunday afternoon? If anyone is interested, maybe we should start another thread. |
