205 today, gained about ten in the last month.

Goal under 190 see how it goes. I have been trying to get under 190 for about three years, that last ten is the hardest, the first 60 came off pretty quickly. Time to turn this bus around.

1/5/12 - 190.0 lbs

1/12/12 - 188.25 lbs

1/19/12 - 190.0 lbs

lost - 0.0 lbs

...sigh... And we rode bikes this weekend and did an 8 mile hike on MLK Day. I'd like to think it was all the push-ups and sit-ups I've been doing, but that ain't likely. Maybe it was the Mexican food or the Burger and chips, or maybe both.

The truth is I've already lost 45 lbs over the last 8 months, so the rest ain't going to come off easy. I might average a 1lb every other week.

Here is hopin' for better results next week.

I saw an ad on TV about the EAT YOUSELF THIN diet. You eat anything you want (in moderation)...BUT...make sure you always eat some protein with every meal. The idea is to keep the blood sugar/glucose from spiking. The protein wipes out the sugar/carb effects on blood sugar/glucose during digestion.

I've been drinking a protein shake with every meal, and I swear I am losing some inches.

Sorry but this is not true- well, it has an element of truth to it.
Protein does not 'wipe out' carb/sugar insulin spikes.

Insulin is released in response to protein as well as carbohydrate, enabling the amino acids to be removed from the blood and stored in the tissue.
This is all perfectly normal.
The body utilises protein and carbohydrate in different ways in the body though.
Generally when people reintroduce (or raise the amount of) protein into their diet they are also making other choices that help.

Protein helps quite a bit with appetite suppression- so what you will find is people who eat protein with every meal tend to be less oriented around sugary snacks a few hours later as protein is absorbed much slower than sugar.

If you were (for example) eating too many calories from sugar and carbs and just add in protein you will not lose weight.
You cannot- calories in are calories in.

Adding protein into your 3 main meals (and sometimes pre/post workout) means you are less likely to snack on less healthy stuff in between meals.

I'll play. I lost 18 pounds last fall and want to lose another 15+.

Today 195. Headed for 180. Through diet and exercise. I've been swimming the past year and it has made a huge difference.

Check on Thursday, eh. See you in a week.

90.8 kg. Down from 93.5 kg. I got a neat weight loss tracker app called Monitor Your Weight. Works in lbs and kilos, and allows you to graph your weight loss against a target.

I lost three lbs. this week from last, based on average weekly weight (daily weight divided by 7). 58 total lost since I started.

Down eight inches in waist size, and had to buy some new clothes - the Wrangler jeans are regular fit, not loose or relaxed.

89.9 kg, from 93.5. Lost 3.6 kg.

I haven't seen a leading "8" on the scale for some time

That's how I felt when I finally went sub-160 pounds... I was amazed when I stepped on the scale and it said 158.8 (I still remember the exact weight LOL!)

Good for you, good job!
