I started new years day at 93.5 kg, and am now down to 91.7 in only six days. But I always lose rapidly the first week or two. It's the long haul that counts. I'll start back in exercising next week. Goal weight is 82 kg.

OK so last week I had stupid weighing scales foul ups so this is my starting point with my new super duper digital scales:

5feet 11and-a-bit-inches.
193lbs

Note - even these expensive scales seem to give a different weight reading between pounds and stones-and-pounds. So I think I'll stick with the pounds reading every time and look for the gradual results over time rather than focussing too much on the odd pound here and there, since the scales probably aren't bang-on accurate every time.

Last Thursday-

199.5

This morning-

195.5

I don't think I lost quite that much. I think I'm a bit dehydrated. Would be nice if all four pounds is real loss though. Ya-hoo, we're on our way!

start - 190.0 lbs

today - 188.25 lbs

lost - 1.75 lbs

Actually I can swing 2 lbs on any day, so that ain't really a loss. I'll swing around, for a week or 2, then drop 5 lbs. That will be an actual loss of a lb or 2. But that is what the scales said last Thursday, and this mornin'.

237 today.

Lost 2 lbs despite it being my 40th birthday on Sunday and the colossal consumption of alcohol at that time.

264. Lost only 1 lb after over 10 miles of walking and 3 times to gym because it all made me hungrier. And now my heel and foot are screwed up. Such is life over 40.

Long way to go, but I'm hoping I'll be able to be much more active as my recovery progresses.
Still can't get to my scales, probably next week, but I'm off the post-op steroids which were giving me some medical-grade "munchies." I'm also going to be starting from 6' 2 1/2" as opposed to 6' 2" - seems like I picked up a half inch after surgery by being able to stand straight up and down again -

OK, I'm in.

Six months ago I was at 265, I'm down to 242. I have a heart treadmill test on the 30th and I want to be below 240 for that. I'd like to be below 230 by June when I can start thinking about backpacking again. ( I hope, this year the snow didn't clear our until August) BTW, I'm 6' 2.5"

I have an awesome dog who pretty much demands to be walked every day so I've been walking 2 to 3 miles every evening and it's helping a lot.

So what do we do? Just report where we are on Thursday? (edit: ah yes I see. OK, I'll post my change next week.)

Joining in, if that's okay.

height: 5'8"
Weight: 220

Target weight: 180 (really it should be closer to 160 but first things first)

Let's see how I do.
