I just realised that my bathroom are scales are a POS and maybe ten pounds out of whack, so I'm getting some new ones later and it will be Friday morning check in from me for this week only!

Great to see a few people joining in and hopefully we can motivate each other.

248 today.
Gained about 20lbs between Halloween and new years, yikes!

I'll be relatively happy under 185, but my true goal is to get under 175 then add 10-15 lbs of muscle.

See yall next thursday!

I can't get at my scale just yet so I will use my weight going in before surgery - 6'2" - 334. I'm down from an all time high of 425! lbs around Christmas 2008, my back guy wants to see me get down to around 260 then we may have to evaluate removing the "fat belt." Long way to go, but I'm hoping I'll be able to be much more active as my recovery progresses.

Can I just put in my weight lost? (A little embarrased at what I have let myself become) I have lost 4# since the first of the year by cutting bad carbs, sugar and soft drinks and eating higher fibre foods and lots more vegetables.

IN!!

6.00'
194.5lbs

Goal = 180

Last February I had gone from 225 to 188. Over this past year, mostly since November, I've put on 6.5 pound. This irks me no end. Back on my "shut your pie hole" diet (eating right of course) and picking up the exercise.

180 here I come.

In: Started diet and exercise plan 9/23/11 - began at 300, lost 51 lbs. and six inches of waist size as of today.

Blood pressure, glucose level and bad cholesterol all down. Ultimate goal is 200 before end of 2012, and getting off all the meds. Short term goal was to fit better into an airliner seat - achieved, next goal is to stop buying clothes at the fat guy store.

On medically supervised diet plan, exercise 5 times per week. Until plan started, I never watched what I ate or got on a scale, and sedentary work added to things. I feel great - stronger and more clear headed, and have more stamina. Sleep better, snoring has diminished, and wake up faster.

Thanks for starting this, and to everyone for sharing.

Gigsby, count me in. I really need to lose weight. I used to have a active job so it wasn't a problem but last year I lost it due to health issues. The same health issues that mean I can't do aerobic exercise like jogging or gym work. I don't know what you can recommend for folks in my position?

I'm in. I need to loose about 100, but would be happy with 75.

My wife and I are doing this together, so we'll motivate each other. Started right after Christmas, but didn't weigh in then. I'll use my weight from the Dr visit in December, and will post my progress weekly.

Good luck to all of you. I've lost 35 pounds in the last year (from 220 to 175). I'm going to take it down another 5 and see how that feels. I'm just now, for the first time in my life, starting to see some definition in my abs.

FWIW I found the MyPlate calorie/fitness tracker on Livestrong.com to be invaluable: http://www.livestrong.com/myplate.

I'm 282lbs @ 6'1'. I'd like to get down to 240 or so by spring. Diet and exersize combined is the only thing that has ever worked for me.

Good luck brothers and sisters.

I am in. I have about 90 lbs to shed. Nothing like going to the twisted kilt with a bunch of work buddies and getting the grilled chicken and veggies.

I will check in next Thursday with the amount lost. I am doing a count down so this week is 90
