I only saw them at a guitar show. They seem extremely well made and fairly pricey. They're a little too slick for me,(almost bordering on an Ed Roman style guitar, excessive inlay work, Pearl or metal knobs. That sort of thing. Not that it's bad, it's just not for me.

I played one at a high end shop while I was trying out a Bad Cat amp. The combination (strat style Warrior) and the amp was very good sounding. Like Fu said, I was almost afraid to play it was so pretty. Everything about it was upscale. There are many variations in their models. You really have to try the one out you're interested in. If you can get over it's "playable art" byline and get a good price on it, you will have something special.

While I have had my share of strats and teles and still do, there is a mistique about these high-end guitar makers that always pop up. I have a 1998 Brian Moore C90P that still facinates me with the tones it can produce. Granted, these aren't gigging guitars but they offer the latest technology and wood combinations. In the comfort of your studio or basement these guitars can take you tonally places a strat or tele can't touch. Though often I prefer the simplicity a strat or tele has to offer, it's a real pleasure to play these "playable art" guitars. I guess you're right about the gold, inlays, and elaborate bindings. Not only are they eye candy but ear candy as well.
