Table Steel and Sacred Steel

I saw a Robert Randolph video on an airplane flight last month. I love that singing tone he gets. Then I teched at a cowboy band reunion. Their steel player was using a double 8 string Gibson from the '40's. He had the best vibrato I've heard since David Lindley. I'm jonsing for the next step up from my National lap steel. Does anyone make an eight string Weisenborn-type guitar? What are some good instruction videos for table steel, either Western or Hawaiian?

Any other fans of non-pedal steel and sacred steel in all of it's forms?

I've been researching lap and other non pedal steels like crazy lately, I'm not really qualified to give any advice, but www.steelguitarforum.com is full of info, the "Non Peddlers" section.

I know Cindy Cashdollar has some western swing Homespun DVD's, and Darrick Campbell has one called "Sacred Steel". Look on Homespun's site for info and clips.

Campbell brothers for me

I saw those guys last summer and they KILLED.
Two different styles from each of the brothers.

I saw Robert only once and he had an OK night I guess.
Much more impressed with the Campbells (YMMV,IMHO,etc etc)

I like the Campbells as well but I couldn't remember their name so I didn't post. Has anyone ever been to a House of God service where these folks are playing?

Thanks for the links, ne4tt. I sold my Dobro to buy a Les Paul, but when there's extra cash again, I'm going to get a Weissenborn-type guitar. I like the tone better then resonators. A double 8 table steel would be cool, too!
